Veer
Veer, a six-year old, lives in the dense Kanwali tenements, with a housewife mother and a rag-picking father who are barely able to provide for the family. When the family was struggling to make a decent living, there was no possibility of Veer attending a school.
And then like a shining ray of hope, Aasraa offered them a way out of their miserable circumstances. By means of Aasraa’s educational support, Veer found himself sitting in a chattering classroom full of excited six and seven year olds.
With his buoyant nature he quickly made friends among his peers. Today he proudly carries a small satchel on his back, and looks forward to a bright future. He likes to play cricket, and hide-and-seek, with the neighbouring boys.
