Pari was shifted from Apna Ghar Shelter Home, Badripur, Jogiwala to Aasraa Trust in the middle of the night on the order of the CWC under pressure of the Minister for Women and Child Development, Uttarakhand. She came to us with serious health issues including worm infestation and malnutrition which were only dealt once she was in our safe care. She was very violent. Under the care of our special educator she was settled to a large extent. Her morning routine of bathing and dressing requires care taker assistance. Pari is non-verbal but she communicates through facial expressions and hand gestures. She likes to roam around rather than taking part in activities. She is also able to differentiate between known persons and stranger but only at a basic level. Working with Pari has been very challenging and she requires constant attention and care.
