26th August was the last day of our super-volunteer Aisling at Street Smart.We organized a small farewell party for her, for which Charu Goyal  baked a cake. The kids and staff here all love Aisling very much and so they all wanted to do something special for her!Sunita dressed up and performed a solo dance! The party was a lot of fun but we were all very sad to see Aisling leave. She has literally been the backbone of Street Smart in the weeks that she was here. She went to collect the kids from Parade Ground, sat with the girls and combed/braided their hair, taught Yoga, initiated the brilliant idea of the star-chart where the kids were given stars when they studied and behaved well (a hugely success idea; now all the kids compete and work hard to get the stars and the little gifts that come with it!) and another million small and big things!Aisling gave us new ideas and helped us implement them and on a sentimental note, she has really taken the project forward with her dedication and enthusiasm and we shall oh so miss her ready smiles and impromptu dance moves!

So through this post, all of us at Street Smart want to tell her that we miss her and we hope she will consider returning to visit us sometime. We also wish her all the best with her education and career. xxx
