Over the last few days we have been running all over the place, getting our products ready for the two-day Kar Kamal Mela at Welha Girls on 14th and 15th. Ergo the delay in updating the blog. We are now finally ALMOST ready for the big show tomorrow and day-after and I have to say, it all looks wonderfully promising. We spent the last two days with the kids stringing beautiful ceramic butterflies and assorted beads and making them into either mobiles (like wind chimes) or pendants. We have used the kids’ paintings as cover pages of notebooks and notepads. With the paintings, we also have wonderful greeting cards for any occasion. The scanning, designing and printing duties were quite forcefully thrusted to our wonderful partner Kavita (a.ka. “D.J. Ma’am” in the Street Smart circles) who has done a fantastic job with them.I have to gush a little bit about our display too! A gentleman has very kindly loaned us two rectangular planks of wood and we have draped it with white fabric and have some of our best photos displayed on them. We will hang our pendants on either sides of the two planks. There will be a lot of other photographs and art work from the kids displayed at the stall too, so anybody reading this and visiting Kar Kamal, do drop in to say hello.
