CREATING OPPORTUNITIES
Computers are a vital tool in today’s world, but many children in government schools lack access to them. Aasraa faced this challenge while working to integrate children from its educational centers into local government schools. To address this, Aasraa created opportunities for digital and computer literacy in some schools, while launching Mobile Computer Labs in others.

BRIDGE TO DIGITAL EDUCATION
The innovative Mobile Computer Lab buses, each equipped with ten computer systems, serve as a bridge to bring digital education to government schools that lack computers and trained computer instructors. These labs offer curriculum support, computer literacy, and education in subjects such as science and math to students across government schools. This mobile initiative ensures that children in the streets and slums of Dehradun have access to quality digital education.
COMPUTER LITERACY
The first Mobile Computer Lab was donated by The Hans Foundation in 2016, one of India’s largest charitable trust funds. The second was donated by the Embassy of Japan in India in 2022. Currently, Aasraa operates these Mobile Computer Labs to provide computer literacy to children in government schools. Each bus is equipped with computers, various computer-aided learning tools, and a dedicated teacher, offering e-learning to schools that otherwise lack computer education resources.

EQUAL ACCESS
The Mobile Computer Labs work in government schools in Dehradun. During the day, the buses are stationed at these schools to provide scheduled computer classes for students. In the evening, the labs are used for after-school remedial education programs. Over 2,000 children, from classes 6 to 12, benefit from computer and digital literacy classes. These sessions are conducted in batches according to a set roster, ensuring all students receive the opportunity to enhance their digital skills.
