MOBILE LEARNING BUSES

Aasraa’s groundbreaking initiative, the Mobile Learning buses, has been designed for maximum impact by reaching and teaching children across various situations and locations.

BRINGING SCHOOL TO CHILDREN

Aasraa’s Mobile Learning Centres were born from a simple idea-if children cannot come to school, we will take school to them!

Many children in the community spend their days earning and substantiating family income , caring for siblings, or have never even seen the inside of a classroom. Some join school but drop out quickly, unable to keep up.

Our solution is simple: an ordinary bus is retrofitted with technology and is made into a vibrant classroom: Smart TV, digital lessons, and the magic of learning. These buses wind through the narrow lanes of crowded slums, drawing children and parents with curiosity and excitement. Here, learning is not just accessible, it is joyful, inspiring, and within reach for hundreds of children every year.

INCULCATING THE LOVE FOR LEARNING

These buses target children in the age group of 4-12 years and can go to children’s doorsteps in the slums. They are an innovative, cost-effective, and versatile solution to solve the problem of illiteracy among slum and street children. The initiative promotes holistic personality development through basic literacy and language and cognitive development, healthcare, and nutrition.

The Mobile Learning Centers aim to inculcate the love for learning through audio-visual learning tools. A smart TV along with digital learning software is installed in a regular bus making a child’s introduction to learning visual, interactive and fun. After carefully assessing the learning levels of these children, they are eventually mainstreamed into formal schools that Aasraa partners with and Open Basic Education centres.

REACHING THE UNREACHABLE

COMPUTER AIDED LEARNING

Aasraa uses modern technology through Computer Aided Learning (CAL) programs that encompass audio, visual, and interactive elements. CAL seamlessly integrates concepts and curriculum with web-based and e-learning content. Compared to traditional rote learning methods, CAL significantly enhances a child’s learning curve, leading to better grasp and retention.

I’ve seen children’s attitudes toward learning completely change because
of the Mobile Learning Centre. The joy of seeing them engage in lessons,
sometimes for the first time, is indescribable.
